ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the prevention effect of low dose pre-irradiation on irradiation-induced lung injury and its possible mechanism. Methods:Totally 320 6-week-old female C57BL/6j mice were divided into control (0 Gy), low-dose (0.5 Gy), high-dose (20 Gy) and low-dose pre-radiation(0.5 Gy+ 20 Gy)groups by the random number method, with 80 mice in each group. The mice in the low-dose and low-dose pre-irradiation groups were placed in the immobilization device under full consciousness and subjected to 0.5 Gy X-ray whole-body irradiation. 2 weeks later, the 0.5 Gy pre-irradiated mice were anesthetized and subjected to 20 Gy X-rays on chest, as the pre-radiation plus high dose radiation group. The mice in the control group were irradiated with mock irradiation (0 Gy). All mice were terminated at designed time points (24 h, 1 month, 3 months and 5 months) after completion of the irradiation schedule, with 20 mice/group at each time point. Then, lung tissues were taken from mice, and pathological changes were observed by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and Masson′s trichrome staining. RT-qPCR and Western blot were used to detect the expressions of mRNAs and proteins of pulmonary fibrosis-related factors. Results:Pathological changes were observed in the lung tissues 1 month after a single high-dose 20 Gy irradiation, mainly including radiation pneumonitis and a small amount of collagen accumulation, which was more serious than low-dose pre-irradiation group, and these pathological changes became more severe when the time after irradiation increased. Meanwhile, the mRNA and protein levels of proSP-C and HOPX in the low-dose pre-irradiation group were higher than those in the high-dose group, except for proSP-C protein expression at 3 and 5 months post-irradiation. A more significant change was that the mRNA level of TGF-β1 in the high-dose group was 5.8-13.6 times higher than that in the other groups at 5 months after irradiation, as well as β-catenin mRNA ( t=4.22, 5.11, P<0.05). At the same time, in the early period (24 h and 1 month) post-irradiation, the level of vimentin protein in the low-dose pre-irradiation group was significantly higher than that in the high-dose group ( t=6.54, 4.28, P<0.05). Conclusions:When the mice were pre-irradiated with 0.5 Gy X-rays, an adaptive protective response was induced in lung tissues, resulting in the tolerance to subsequent high dose irradiation.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the dynamic phenotype of type Ⅱ alveolar epithelial cells(AEC Ⅱ)in radiation-induced lung fibrosisand its role in the formation of fibrosis. Methods:Totally 90 C57BL/6J female mice were divided into 2 groups: irradiation group (50, thoracic irradiation with a single dose of 20 Gy X-rays), control group (40, sham irradiation). At 24 h, 4 and 12 weeks after irradiation, 5 mice were euthanized and the lungs were collected for pathological observation. The other lungtissues were collected for the isolation of primary AEC Ⅱ cells with microbeadssorting. The mRNA expressions of proSP-C, HOPX, vimentin, β-catenin and TGF-β1 in AEC II cells were detected by RT-PCR.Results:Acute pneumonitis was observed in the lungs at 24 h after irradiation and alleviated in accompany with partial alveolar septal thickening and a small amount of collagen deposition at 4 weeks after irradiation. The collagen deposition became more pronounced at 12 weeks after irradiation, together with collapsed and fused alveolar cavities, alveolar septal hyperplasia, and pulmonary fibrosis formation. The mRNAexpression levels of proSP-C and HOPX in primary AEC Ⅱ cells increased at 24 hours after irradiation and then approached to a peak value at 4 weeks after irradiation ( F=8.441, 3.586, P=0.036). The mRNA expression levels of vimentin, a biomarker of EMT, was increased significantly at 4 weeks and continued up to 12 weeks after irradiation( F=8.358, P=0.001). The mRNA expression levels of profibrotic factors β-catenin and TGF-β1 were both significant increased at 12 weeks after irradiation( F=4.62, 3.279, P=0.044). Conclusions:The phenotypeof AECⅡ cells could not only be transformed from proSP-C+ to HOPX+ /proSP-C+ , HOPX+ /proSP-C+ /vimentin+ , and vimentin+ /proSP-C, but also differentiated into mesenchymal cells with highly expressed profibrotic factors, thereby inducing EMT process, which either played a role in the repair of radiation-induced lung injury or triggered radiation-induced fibrosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection and conventional treatment for partial rotator cuff tear and analyze the possible mechanism. Methods:A prospective randomize control study was performed for clinical data of 100 patients with partial rotator cuff tear admitted to Beijing Tongren Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University between January 2019 and December 2020. The patients were assigned to observation group ( n=50) and control group ( n=50) according to the random number table. Both groups were given conventional non-operative treatment, together with PRP injection in observation group and steroid injection in control group. The visual analogue score (VAS), Constant-Murley Score (CMS) and serum levels of inflammatory cytokines [interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)] were measured before and at 3, 6 months after treatment. The MRI images were also evaluated in observation group before treatment and at 6 months after treatment. Results:There were 55 males and 45 females with the age range of 40-75 years [(55.9±9.1)years]. All patients were followed up for 6.0-8.2 months [(6.2±2.9)months]. There were no significant differences between the two groups in VAS, CMS, IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α before treatment (all P>0.05). The VAS was (3.5±0.9)points and (1.4±0.4)points] in observation group at 3, 6 months after treatment, significant lower than (4.1±0.9)points and (1.8±0.5)points in control group (all P<0.01). The CMS was (59.5±9.4)points and (86.5±7.9)points in observation group at 3, 6 months after treatment, significant higher than (53.5±8.6)points and (78.5±8.4)points in control group (all P<0.01). The serum levels of IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α were (0.69±0.21)μg/L, (2.06±0.55)μg/L and (2.12±0.49)μg/L in observation group at 3 months after treatment, significant lower than (0.92±0.26)μg/L, (2.67±0.48)μg/L and (2.87±0.51)μg/L in control group (all P<0.01). The serum levels of IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α in observation group [(0.37±0.11)μg/L, (1.14±0.23)μg/L, (1.27±0.25)μg/L] were also significantly lower than those in control group [(0.45±0.09)μg/L, (1.36±0.27)μg/L, (1.88±0.26)μg/L] at 6 months after treatment (all P<0.01). In both groups, the VAS, CMS and inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α) showed significant improvement at 3, 6 months after treatment when compared to the pre-treatment levels (all P<0.05). Simutaneously, each group showed significant differences in each indicator at 3, 6 months after treatment ( P<0.05). In observation group, MRI showed that the high signal on the superior surface of the supraspinatus disappeared whereas the high signal in the tendon decreased at 6 months after treatment. Conclusion:For patients with partial rotator cuff tear, PRP injection can relive shoulder pain and improve shoulder function, which may be associated with the down-regulation of inflammatory responses.

ABSTRACT

Rupture and bleeding of accessory hepatic aneurysms is clinically rare. Computed tomography angiography (CTA) or multislice reconstruction can provide reliable basis for clinical diagnosis. Interventional surgery is the main treatment method. A successful case of interventional embolization of ruptured accessory hepatic aneurysm in our hospital was reported. The accessory hepatic artery variation of this patient belongs to Michels type 4. The bleeding site of the variant artery was identified by CTA and digital subtraction angiography. Satisfactory results were obtained after interventional embolization and follow-up.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the correlation between the residual amounts of commonly used tissue decellularization reagents like sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), Triton X-100, sulfobetaine 10 (SB-10) and cytotoxicity, and to find the safety threshold for controlling the residual of the reagent. Methods:SDS, Triton X-100, SB-10 solutions of different concentrations were prepared, and the cytotoxicity of solutions of different concentrations was detected by L-929 cells and MC3T3-E1 cells according to the method of GB/T 16886.5. The mass concentration range of the above three decellularization reagents was refined, and the threshold for the residual non-cytotoxicity of a single reagent was determined. Mix the three reagents in pair or three blends, and determine the threshold of non-cytotoxicity after the reagents are mixed by cytotoxicity test. Results:SDS, Triton X-100 and SB-10 caused L-929 cells to produce cytotoxic concentration values of 4×10 -3, 2×10 -2 and 6×10 -1 mg/ml, and MC3T3-E1 cells 6×10 -3, 4×10 -2 and 2 mg/ml. The toxicity trend of the three reagents is SDS>Triton X-100>SB-10. When three reagents at critical concentrations are mixed in pairs or three, they have no cytotoxicity to L-929 cells and MC3T3-E1 cells. Conclusions:When using the above three decellularization reagents to prepare decellularized scaffolds, a variety of reagent cleaning procedures should be used to efficiently clean the tissues so that the residual amount of reagents is below the critical value to ensure the biological safety of the decellularized scaffolds.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To determine the role of type Ⅱ alveolar epithelial stem cells (AEC Ⅱ) in radiation-induced pulmonary injury and investigate the potential mechanism by observing the dynamic changes in the expression levels of anti-prosurfactant protein C (proSP-C) proSP-C (AEC Ⅱ biomarker), homeobox only protein X (HOPX, type I alveolar epithelial cell biomarker) or vimentin (a mesenchymal marker) and transforming growth factor β 1(TGF-β 1), a profibrotic cytokine. Methods:Eight-week old C57BL/6j female mice were exposed to X-ray thoracic irradiation. Mouse lungs were collected at 8 different time points of 24 h, 1 week, 1 to 6 months after irradiation. The histopathological changes of the lungs at different time points were observed with H& E staining to determine the time of formation of pulmonary fibrosis. In addition, the co-expression of proSP-C with HOPX or vimentin in AEC Ⅱ was confirmed by immunofluorescence staining to track AEC Ⅱ phenotypes at different injury phases following thoracic irradiation. The expression levels of those proteins and TGF-β 1 were quantitatively detected by Western blot. Results:After thoracic exposure to a single dose of 20 Gy X-ray for 3 months, the fibrotic lesions in the lungs could be noted. The co-expression of proSP-C with vimentin or HOPX could be observed in AEC Ⅱ. Western blot demonstrated that the expression levels of TGF-β 1 and those proteins were also changed along with the lung injury. Conclusion:AEC Ⅱ can be differentiated into mesenchymal-like cells after X-ray irradiation due to the up-regulated expression of TGF-β 1, which is a potential cause of radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis.

ABSTRACT

Acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) is caused by plaque rupture, followed by thrombosis and acute occlusion of blood vessels. In some patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI), although infarction-related coronary arteries are opened by revascularization, there is no reflow due to the associated coronary microcirculation.Increase the incidence and mortality of short-term and long-term cardiovascular events. On the contrary, although the associated coronary artery is still occluded in some AMI patients, the myocardial microcirculation in the perfusion area can be perfused by collateral circulation, resulting in the decrease of the elevated ST segment. Therefore, in the process of diagnosis and treatment of AMI, paying attention to the structural and functional changes of coronary artery microcirculation should be an important research field.More and more evidence shows that coronary artery microcirculation plays an important role in myocardial blood supply.Through the use of thermal dilution pressure catheter, microcirculation resistance index (IMR) can measure the function of microcirculation.IMR is a specific index to reflect microcirculation, which is different from the traditional evaluation method, and has multiple advantages, such as simple operation, strong repeatability, high specificity and so on.In recent years, the research on the correlation of IMR is advancing by leaps and bounds. This paper reviews the current research progress on the correlation of IMR in STEMI.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the effects of inhibiting glutaredoxin 3(GLRX3) expression on proliferation and apoptosis of lung cancer cells.@*Methods@#Western blotting was used to detect the expressions of GLRX3 protein in human embryonic lung fibroblast MRC5 and lung cancer cells, including A427, A549, PC9 and H1299. GLRX3-targeted siRNA (experimental group) and negative siRNA (negative group) were transfected into A549 cells, and the cells without special treatment were blank group. The protein expression levels of GLRX3, cleaved cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase 3(cleaved caspase-3), signal transducers and activators of transcription 3(STAT3), phosphorylated STAT3(p-STAT3) in each group at 48 hours after transfection were measured by Western blotting. The proliferation ability of differently treated cells at 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours after transfection were detected by CCK-8 array. The cell apoptosis at 48 hours after transfection was evaluated by flow cytometry.@*Results@#The protein expression levels of GLRX3 in MRC5, A427, A549, PC9 and H1299 were 0.094±0.010, 0.282±0.021, 0.551±0.045, 0.423±0.039 and 0.454±0.036, respectively. The protein expressions of GLRX3 in tested lung cancer cells were significantly higher than that of MRC5 cells (all P<0.01). The GLRX3 protein expressions in blank group, negative control group and experimental group at 48 hours after transfection were 0.311±0.029, 0.328±0.032 and 0.103±0.012, respectively. GLRX3 protein expression level of experimental group in A549 cells was significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.01), whilewithout statistical difference between the negative group and blank group (P>0.05). A values of experimental group at 24, 48 and 72 hours after transfection in A549 cells were significantly different from those of blank group (all P<0.01). Percent of apoptotic cells in the experimental group was (9.52±0.56)%, which was significantly higher than that of blank group [(1.65±0.22)%] and negative control group [(1.42±0.26)%, all P<0.01]. Consistently, compared with blank group, the cleaved caspase-3 markedly increased in the experimental group (P<0.01). The protein expression of p-STAT3 in the experimental group was significantly lower than the blank group (P<0.01), while no significant difference of STAT3 protein expression was observed among all the groups (P>0.05).@*Conclusions@#Inhibition of GLRX3 gene expression can inhibit the proliferation of lung cancer cells and induce cell apoptosis through up-regulating cleaved caspase-3 expression and down-regulating STAT3 signaling pathway.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to determine the expression and clinical significance of DDX43 in lung adenocarcinoma. Expression of DDX43 gene and protein of lung adenocarcinoma tissue and para-carcinoma tissues was observed in 27 cases by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. These patients were diagnosed as lung adenocarcinoma in the Huaihe Hospital of Henan University from February 2015 to December 2015. The relative ratio of DDX43 mRNA expression in lung adenocarcinoma and para-carcinoma tissues was 0.87+/- 0.62 versus 0.21+/- 0.77 and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant [P<0.01]. The expression of DDX43 in normal lung tissues and lung adenocarcinoma tissues was different. The positive rate of DDX43 expression in lung adenocarcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that in normal lung tissues, and the difference was statistically significant [P<0.05]. The analysis of clinical pathological characteristics showed that the increase of protein expression was related to the stage and metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma. DDX43 is highly expressed in lung adenocarcinoma, and the expression level is related to the stage and metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma, suggesting that DDX43 is closely related to the occurrence and development of lung adenocarcinoma, and may be a molecular marker for early diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma

ABSTRACT

The present study was to examine the effect of stellate ganglion block (SGB) on bilateral regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rSO2) and postoperative cognitive function. Eighty patients undergoing selective coronary artery bypass graft with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) were randomly and equally divided into two groups. The patients in group S were given right SGB with ropivacaine, while the patients in group C were injected with normal saline. We compared the bilateral rSO2 after SGB. Minimum Mental State Examination (MMSE), Visual Verbal Learning Test (VVLT), and Digital Span Test (DST) were applied to observe the effect on cognitive function. We found that the incidence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) 7 days after surgery in group S was lower than that in group C. The level of blocked side rSO₂ of S group were significantly higher before CPB time of rewarming than that before SGB (P < 0.05), much higher than corresponding non-blocked side rSO₂ before CPB (P < 0.05), and much higher than rSO₂ level in group C before CPB and after CPB (P < 0.05). The non-blocked side rSO₂ in group S before anesthesia were much lower than basic levels and those in group C (P < 0.05). It could be concluded from the above results that there was significant increase in the blocked-side rSO₂ compared to the non-blocked side and there was significant decrease in the incidence of POCD compared to the control group after SGB.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO) assisted with anterior column reconstruction in the treatment of chronic osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF). METHODS: Between January 2008 and October 2014, 11 cases of chronic OVCF were treated. There were 2 males and 9 females, aged 65-76 years (mean, 72.3 years). The vertebral compression fracture segment involved T11 in 2 cases, T12 in 2 cases, L1 in 4 cases, L2 in 2 cases, and L3 in 1 case. At preoperation, the Oswestry disability index (ODI) score was 31.1±10.2; kyphosis Cobb angle of fractured vertebrae was (36.5±10.2)° on the lateral X-ray films of the spine; and distance between C7 plumb vertical line (C7 PL) and sagittal vertical axis (SVA) of the S1 superior border was (5.2±2.5) cm. Six cases had spinal cord injury (SCI), including 4 cases of Frankel grade C and 2 cases of grade D. At last follow-up, ODI score, kyphosis Cobb angle of fractured vertebrae, and distance between C7 PL and SVA were recorded and compared with preoperative values. Postoperative Frankle scores were recorded in SCI cases. X-ray film and CT scan were taken to evaluate bone fusion at 12 months after operation. RESULTS: The operation was completed successfully without serious complications. Nerve root radiation symptoms occurred in 2 cases undergoing lumbar PSO, which was relieved after conservative treatment. Cerebrospinal fluid leakage occurred in 1 case and was cured after 2 weeks. All cases were followed up 12-24 months (mean, 15.6 months). No internal fixation failure or pseudarthrosis was found postoperatively.Screw loosening was found in 1 case (2 screws of the upper level) and titanium Cage cutting vertebral body was found in 1 case. Bone fusion was obtained in all cases at 12 months after operation. At last follow-up, ODI score was significantly improved to 13.7±5.7(t=4.417, P=0.018), kyphosis Cobb angle of fractured vertebrae to (7.0±15.2)° (t=5.113, P=0.009), and the distance between C7 PL and SVA to (2.8±2.2) cm (t=3.285, P=0.032). In 6 SCI cases, Frankle grade was recovered to E (1 case), to D (1 case), and no improvement (2 cases) from C, and to E from D (2 cases). CONCLUSIONS: PSO assisted anterior column reconstruction was an effective method in treatment of chronic OVCF.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the feasibility of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) for differentia-tion of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) at 3.0 T MRI. This study also aims to optimize b values. Methods Thirty-six patients with lung cancer proved by pathology were examined by T2WI and DWI (b = 400, 600 and 800 s/mm2) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of each lesion were calculated among different b values. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to calcu-late the difference between the ADC of SCLC and NSCLC and to evaluate the diagnostic capability. Analysis of variance was used to determine difference in ADC of NSCLC histological types at the optimal b values. Results The ADC values of SCLC and NSCLC decreased with increasing b values , and the differences were statistically significant (P = 0.002, P < 0.001). ROC analysis showed that the area under curve (AUC) values were 0.775、0.892、0.804 (b = 400, 600, 800 s/mm2, respectively). The AUC with a b value of 600 s/mm2 was the largest. When an ADC of 1.296 × 10-3 mm2/s was considered as a threshold, the sensitivity, and specificity were 76.9%, and 90.0%, respectively. Conclusion DWI reflects the diffusion motion of water protons in lung carcinoma and it has moderate diagnosis potency in differentiating SCLC and NSCLC. The optimal b value is 600 s/mm 2.

Objective To evaluate the intervention efficacy of hand hygiene of health care workers(HCWs)in a hospital before and after the comprehensive interventions were taken. Methods The baseline investigation stage was in April-June,2013 ,intervention was performed from July,2013,post-intervention efficacy evaluation stage was in October-December ,2013. Hand hygiene compliance was observed by investigators ,and questionnaires were filled out. Results After multiple interventions were taken, hand hygiene compliance rate of HCWs increased from 38.02% to 53.86% (χ2= 181.82,P<0.05),post-intervention compliance rates of hand hygiene improved significantly in departments of internal medicine, surgery and intensive care unit (all P<0.05).After intervention, the overall hand hy-giene compliance rate at different work opportunities rose from 41.87% (1 740/4 156)to 53.45% (2 044/3 824)(χ2=107.2,P<0.05);except sterile manipulation, the other 4 manipulation opportunities were all higher than pre-intervention (all P<0.05);HCWs of different professions were all higher than pre-intervention(all P<0.05).Conclusion Active hand hygiene intervention can effectively improve hand hygiene compliance of HCWs.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the efficacy of laparoscopic radical hysterectomy and open surgery with early stage cervical cancer in elderly patients. Methods Performed a retrospective study of 195 cases underwent surgical treatment of early stage cervical cancer in elderly patients.According to different approach, the patients were divided into laparoscopic group (66 cases) and open group (129 cases). The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, number of resected lymph nodes, bowel function recovery time, postoperative hospital stay and postoperative complications was compared between two groups. Results The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, bowel function recovery time, postoperative hospital stay in laparoscopic group were significantly shorter than those in open group [(237.6 ±46.9) min vs.(259.3 ± 76.7) min,(214.7 ± 104.8) ml vs.(283.4 ± 137.2) ml,(1.9 ± 1.2) d vs.(2.8 ± 1.5) d,(4.1 ± 3.5) d vs.(6.7 ± 1.4) d,P < 0.05 or < 0.01].There was no significant difference in number of resected lymph nodes and postoperative complications between laparoscopic group and open group (P > 0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic radical hysterectomy is both safe and effective in elderly patients with early stage cervical cancer.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:Clinical treatment of hemivertebrae-induced congenital scoliosis is a complex medical problem. OBJECTIVE:To find the optimal treatment for hemivertebrae accompanied by congenital scoliosis. METHODS:Total y 142 hemivertebrae patients who had received surgical treatment in the Department of Orthopedics, the 306 Hospital of Chinese PLA, China from 2010 to 2012 were enrol ed. The main surgical treatment was hemivertebrae resection and bone fusion with internal fixation, apical osteotomy for severe scoliosis and spinal shortening with internal fixation, one-stage posterior thoracolumbar osteotomy with internal fixation, spinal decompression with internal fixation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After treatment, the average correction rate was 70.9%for scoliosis and 71.7%for kyphosis. The fol ow-up period was 14-35 months, with an average of 23.4 months. By the end of the final fol ow-up, the loss rate for Cobb’s angle was 7.3%for scoliosis and 7.7%for kyphosis. Fol ow-up X-ray films showed bone fusion and internal fixation without loosening, fracture, and decompensation. Implementation of one-stage posterior thoracolumbar osteotomy with internal fixation can effectively correct hemivertebrae-induced kyphoscoliosis to obtain a satisfactory spinal sagittal and coronal balance.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:Orthopedic osteotomy at the apex of kyphosis is best for treatment of ankylosing spondylitis from a biomechanical aspect, but there is a high risk for intraoperative spinal cord injury. OBJECTIVE:To explore the clinical efficacy of vertebral plate osteotomy+vertebra osteotomy+long-segment pedicle screw fixation in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis with kyphotic deformity. METHODS:Thirty-six patients with ankylosing spondylitis were subjected to pedicle subtraction osteotomy and Smith-Peterson osteotomy, and then fol owed up for 3 months to 2 years. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After implantation, sagittal imbalance did not occur in 36 patients, and the improvement rate of sagittal imbalance was 64%. The improvement rates of thoracolumbar kyphosis and chin-brow vertical angle were 60%and 98%, respectively. The pain relief rate was 64%, and the Oswestry Disability Index was 95%. There were no pul ed nails, broken nails and broken robs after implantation. These findings indicate that the combination of selective osteotomy technique and long-segment internal fixation can achieve stable fixation effects, prevent sagittal imbalance, and avoid the occurrence of pul ing nails, breaking nails and breaking robs caused by osteoporosis.
